Post-harvest marketing tips for 2013

Ed Usset, grain marketing specialist at the University of Minnesota, offers his tips and thoughts on post-harvest grain markets for 2013. Usset talks here about carrying charges, possible storage and speaks to a soybean strategy and a corn strategy for the coming weeks.

“I think it’s time for producers to turn their attention to post-harvest marketing,” says Usset. “Things can change in the next six to eight weeks, and right now I’m feeling a willingness to take a chance on some grain in the bin, holding out on higher prices next spring or summer. But take advantage of good prices at harvest.”
