In January 2021, Carrie Castille was named director of USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture, the organization that guides research across a wide range of areas including work with land grant colleges and others in Extension. Farm Progress got the opportunity to sit down with Castille during the Sunbelt Ag Expo to learn more. Castille has worked in Rural Development and Extension and brings that experience to this new post where she is working with the industry to guide research in agriculture for the future. Her passion for the work comes through as she discusses work expanding on diversity and inclusion to the conversation as well. Give it a listen.
