Harvest season is firing up across the country as combines and pickers roll to bring in the 2021 crop. There's another crop you might want to be thinking about – your data. And while the idea may sound like drudgery, tech companies are ramping up their game to give farmers the tools they need.
In this episode of Around Farm Progress, we connect with two tech savvy folks to explore information in new ways. First up, we talk with Tom Eickhoff, director of implementation, The Climate Corporation. Eickhoff knows farmers have a lot of information and he shares some new capabilities added to Climate FieldView. The new features will make it easier for farmers to analyze the data they've collected.
Then we connect with Orlando Saez, co-founder and CEO of startup Aker Technologies. The company has developed an innovative probe that can be deployed using a drone to scout crops below the canopy. A drone, flying a specific route can cover a lot of ground and capture a wide range of information for analyzation. It's an innovative tool that brings a new dimension to crop scouting.
