Horizon Ag maintains partnerships across the industry to bring high quality Clearfield and Provisia rice seed to the market. This includes industry partners like BASF and seed retailers, along with university breeding programs, researchers and Extension leaders.

Partnerships also include rice seed producers, like Zack Tanner at Tanner Seed Company in Bernie, Mo. This year, Tanner grew Clearfield varieties CLL18, CLL19 and Provisia PVL04.

Tanner said that a silver lining of rice seed production is getting a first-hand look at the newest varieties, and he invited Farm Press to his operation to see the progress. Additionally, Horizon Ag general manager, Tim Walker and LSU AgCenter rice breeder, Adam Famoso joined the conversation to highlight these latest releases.
