Organizers of the big show in Hanover, Germany, brought smart farming to life by making room for startups of all kinds at the show. An earlier gallery — Diving into innovation at Agritechnica — shared a look at a range of those startups.

This slideshow offers a look at more of what was on hand at the show, including everything from robots to a hydrogen-powered engine. Agriculture has drawn wide-ranging attention in the last decade as entrepreneurs see opportunity in the challenges farmers will face for the future.

Most of these products have yet to be commercialized, which will be made clear in each description. These tools offer a glimpse into what innovators are targeting for future opportunities. In some cases what you find here is more of interest in the future direction of machines and equipment since many products listed are not marketed in the United States. Consider it a peek at what others are doing in the world of precision farming, engineering and sustainability.
