AgReliant Genetics is expanding in Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota.

“Directing greater resources toward the northwestern Corn Belt, which is where we currently see opportunities in market and acreage growth, will support the expansion of our product portfolio and customer experiences now and in the future,” saysMark Herrmann, President & CEO, AgReliant Genetics. “This helps to ensure that AgReliant is well positioned for long-term innovation and success.”

This growth initiative includes the opening of a new AgReliant Genetics research station in Sioux Falls, S.D., and an expanded testing network focused on geographically-targeted germplasm evaluation and corn hybrid production.

AgReliant Genetics seed brands include AgriGold, LG Seeds and Pride Seeds. Headquartered in Indiana, AgReliant Genetics was created in 2000 as a joint venture between the international seed groups KWS and Groupe Limagrain.

“Having a research presence in South Dakota allows us to be well positioned to breed and test our products in a part of the country that we see as a great fit for our germplasm and for our commercial brand strategies,” says Peter Lynch, vice president of research.

“This western expansion, coupled with our access to independent globally-positioned research facilities and germplasm through our parent companies, provides the ideal environment for developing proprietary early- to mid-maturity hybrids that work for our northwestern [Corn Belt] farmers,” says Mike Kerns, director of corn inbred line breeding.
