Jan. 17 webinar looks at cotton markets and farm bill.

Cotton prices have come under pressure due to continuing trade uncertainties and economic concerns.  Cotton’s economic fundamentals still favor better prices, however.  Dr. Don Shurley, cotton economist and professor emeritus of cotton economics in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, University of Georgia will discuss the outlook for both 2018 and 2019 crop prices in a Cotton Market Outlook and Policy Update webinar, Jan. 17, at 3 P.M. Central time.

Shurley also will discuss the seed cotton program and ARC/PLC for all covered commodities contained in the new farm bill for 2019-2023.  He will also talk about changes in the new farm bill compared to the law.

Shurley is widely published in industry media and websites, is a sought-after conference speaker, and author of the Cotton Marketing News newsletter through Southern Cotton Growers.
