Illinois Corn Growers Elect 2007-2008 Leadership

Newly elected offers of the Illinois Corn Growers Association are: Art Bunting of Dwight, as president; Rob Elliott of Cameron, as vice president; Paul Taylor of Esmond, as treasurer; and Andy Goleman of Divernon, as secretary.

The 2007-2008 ICGA leadership was elected by the ICGA board at their re-organizational meeting held in conjunction with the Illinois Commodity Conference recently in Bloomington.

Bunting, a Livingston County farmer, has served on the ICGA board for eight years and he most recently served as vice president. As District 5 director he represents growers in Livingston, LaSalle, Grundy and Kankakee Counties.

Elected to lead the Export Committee were: Jim Reed of Monticello, as chairman of the export committee; and Jeff Scates of Shawneetown, as vice chairman. Elected to serve on the industrial committee were: Tim Lenz of Strasburg, as chairman; and Craig Buhrow of West Brooklyn, as vice chairman.

Re-elected to serve as directors on the state board were:

District 1 – Paul Taylor of Esmond representing growers in Boone, McHenry, Lake, DeKalb, Kane, Cook, DuPage Kendall and Will counties.

District 4 – Craig Buhrow of West Brooklyn representing growers in Stark, Marshall, Putnam, Bureau, Whiteside and Lee counties.

District 7 – James Reed of Monticello representing growers in Woodford, McLean, DeWitt, Piatt, Macon and Moultrie counties.

District 10 – Andrew Goleman of Divernon representing growers in Morgan, Sangamon, Scott, Greene, Macoupin, Jersey and Calhoun counties.

District 13 – Richard Gates of Carmi representing growers in Marion, Clay, Richland, Lawrence, Jefferson, Wayne, Edwards and Wabash counties.

At large directors elected at the annual meeting were: Steve Ruh of Sugar Grove, Gary Hudson – Hindsboro and Jim Schielein of Dixon, interlocking director with the Illinois Farm Bureau.
