The 52nd annual Blackland Farm Managers Tour, North Carolina’s preeminent field day, is set for Wednesday Aug. 3 in Beaufort County, near Pantego.

“This is the largest event of its kind in North Carolina, and we expect more than 550 attendees this year. The event will offer an excellent opportunity to interact with farmers and agribusiness leaders from across the state and will include educational presentations on corn, soybean, and cotton production and management,” said Beaufort County Extension Agent Rod Gurganus.

This year, Jolene Brown, an author, farmer and professional speaker for agriculture from eastern Iowa, will be a part of the tour. Brown will discuss the business side of agriculture and offer insights on transitioning family farms from one generation to the next.

The hosts for this year’s event will be Southland Farms and Howell Farms.  If using GPS, please enter this address: 3385 Swindell Road, Pantego NC 27860. Registration begins at 7:00 AM with the tours starting at 8:00 AM. Lunch and remarks will begin around 12:30 PM.
