The largest beef cattle show held in Indiana returns to the Indiana State Fairgrounds for a three-day run beginning on Dec. 2. The weekend show concludes Dec. 4.

Hoosier Beef Congress activities on Friday, Dec. 2, will include a show for breed and All-Star Sale cattle beginning at 8 a.m. EST, plus showmanship preliminaries. The showmanship classes will begin at 5 p.m. A trade show featuring items of interest to anyone in the beef cattle industry will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.

A livestock judging contest will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Breed sales and the All-Star Steer and Heifer Sale will start at 9:30 a.m. Showmanship semifinals and finals will begin at 11:30 a.m. The junior beef show itself will commence at 2 p.m. in three different show rings. Both steers and heifers will be exhibited in various rings, according to breeds listed in entry information for the Congress. The trade show will continue from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, the final day of the Congress. A worship service beginning at 7 a.m. on Sunday will be conducted in the show ring.

Following the worship service, the junior beef show will resume at 8 a.m. It’s scheduled to conclude the Congress around 4 p.m.

The junior show and related events during the weekend are sponsored by the Indiana Beef Cattle Association. An online auction for the first 30 spots in stalling order will be held Nov. 15 through the Willoughby Sales website. Proceeds from this auction are donated to charity.
