Corn lower, soybeans higher, as markets await heat wave

Forecasts show more moderate temperatures next week. (audio)

Corn is a little lower and soybeans are a few cents higher near midday on Wednesday as traders await this week’s heat wave, which is expected to produce highs at or above 100 degrees in Nebraska and in the mid-90s in the Midwest.
The latest weather maps show the heat moderating by Monday with highs then expected in the mid-80s.
