Horizon Ag Arkansas Field Day is Aug. 4 in Jonesboro

Attendees of the Horizon Ag field day in Jonesboro, Ark., can get a look at new, improved Clearfield rice varieties generating much excitement with end-users, and new weed management tools coming to market.

Two new Clearfield varieties with package-quality rice and improved blast resistance will be featured in field demonstration plots. Both CL172 and CL153 are slated to be brought to market in 2017. They also show improved stalk strength, high yield and an end-product that meets domestic and export market demands.

BASF personnel will provide a report on the Provisia Rice System, a new tool for post-emergence control of a broad range of grass weeds, including ALS-resistant grasses, weedy rice and red rice.

The Horizon Ag field day in Arkansas will be held Thursday, August 4, at Wimpy Farms in Jonesboro, AR. Registration is at 9 a.m. followed by a crop tour at 9:30 a.m., then lunch.
