Max Armstrong examines new legislation that could heavily impact the driving industry.

Many farm groups and others do not want speed limiters put on trucks but if legislation gets passed then trucks hauling over 26,001 pounds will have just that. It’s an effort to make highways safer, says the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Although opponents like an Oklahoma legislator who is a semi-truck driver and hauls equipment, says changing the flow of traffic will only make roads less safe.

Max Armstrong's Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
