Max Armstrong shares some insight from the National Association of Realtors showing that for the first time sales of homes in rural areas and small towns exceeded those in the suburbs. In the past two decades suburb sales were 53% of home sales while rural and small-town sales were about 30%. But in the 12 months ending last June sales in rural and small-town sales hit 48% of all sales while suburban sales fell to 39%. It’s a dramatic shift.
Max Armstrong's Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
