Six different classes of wheat are grown in the USA-- four are winter wheat and two are planted in spring and harvested in fall.

The two spring planted wheat are Red hard wheat and Durham-- they only make 25 percent of wheat grown in this country-- But they are necessary for pizza and croissants.

Hard Spring wheat and Durham wheat tour hosted scouts from all different parts of the country with all kinds of occupations participating-- media, government, cooks and plant breeders

The hard wheat fields were estimated at 47. 4 bushels per wheat acre down from last year on the wheat tour.

Durham wheat tours estimates the crop at 43.9 bushels of wheat per acre which are to be harvested in late August.
