Forecasts for hot weather next week in the Plains and Midwest triggered active buying in the crop markets, with new-crop corn back above $4 a bushel and new-crop soybeans above $10. The winter wheat markets are above $5 and spring wheat is nearing $8.

Farm Futures expects minor declines in USDA’s crop condition ratings for corn, soybeans and spring wheat. The ratings are due later on Monday.
