Futures firm with wheat rally

USDA reports loom before holiday. (Video)

Grain futures are higher as the overnight session begins to wind down. Spring wheat futures remain the driving force behind gains, sending Minneapolis September to new contracts highs. Storms moving across the upper Midwest this morning are part of systems that could bring heavy rains to the Corn Belt while mostly bypassing dry areas of the western Plains. Traders are mulling estimates for Friday’s USDA acreage and stocks reports, with many hoping for a quick exit and a long holiday weekend.
