Zimmermans are Wisconsin's Outstanding Young Farmers

The Marathon County couple finished ahead of four other finalists.

Jenn and Sam Zimmerman of Ringle were selected the 2017 winners of Wisconsin's Outstanding Young Farmer award.

The 64th annual awards weekend was held Jan. 27-29 in Baraboo.

The Zimmermans milk 170 Holstein cows on their Marathon County farm. They also won the Speak Up for Agriculture competition. They have four children — Mason, 13; Adele, 12; Neah, 9; and Garrison, 4.

Amy Raboine and Marques Koenig of Reedsburg were the first runners-up. Other finalists in the state OYF event were Amy and Derick Zernicke of Bonduel, Rufus Haucke of Viola and Adam Faust of Chilton.

The Zimmermans will attend the National Outstanding Young Farmer Awards Program in February 2018.
