State legislators and other officials will get a first hand look at water conservation projects and issues in the northern Arkansas Delta July 10-11.

“This is a chance to showcase the work being done by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture in partnership with the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Arkansas Association of Conservation Districts,” said Mike Daniels, an Extension water quality management specialist.

The tour begins in Jonesboro, with the Joint Agriculture committee being briefed on the projects. Tuesday’s tour will include stops at:

Wednesday’s schedule includes on-farm soil and water conservation tour with briefings on multiple programs. At 10:15, participants return to the Cooper Alumni Center at Arkansas State for a panel discussion on water resource concerns.
