This year’s Outlook Agribusiness Conference in Visalia, Calif., will feature an interesting mix of discussions on cannabis, labor, water and investor activity. As always, the meeting will be capped with the release and presentation of the highlights of the annual Trends in Agricultural Land & Lease Values report.

The annual report is a publication that focuses on the drivers behind rural land value changes with a look at what lies ahead.

The annual meeting serves as a gathering of the California Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. This year’s event takes place March 19-22 at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center in downtown Visalia.

This year’s conference includes a spring agriculture tour of operations in the Central Valley, to include Burchell Nursery, Fowler Packing, Campos Brothers Farms and Terranova Ranch. The 2018 California Classic BBQ and Scholarship Auction will conclude the day at the Heritage Complex Ag Museum at the International Agri-Center in Tulare.

Included in the conference each year are presentations to recipients of the Distinguished California Agriculturalist and Agricultural Stewardship Awards. Both were created to honor and recognize individuals or companies that have contributed to California agriculture in a substantial way.
