Claas forage harvesters have a new best friend in Stop Rock, a revolutionary mechanism that keeps large rocks from entering and damaging machine feeding systems.

The award-winning Stop Rock is designed to fit all Claas forage harvesters. Stop Rock will be available as an option on all new Claas Jaguar Green Eye forage harvesters. Stop Rock prevents damage to the machine using an electronically monitored spring-mass system and sensor allowing the driver to easily define the rock size, and set the sensitivity from inside the cab.

Here's how it works: If a rock in the swatch passes the front pre-compression roller, it is raised abruptly. The lifting speed of the roller is measured by a potentiometer. The system detects the sensitivity setting by the driver and determines whether it is a small or large rock. Intake stops immediately when the rock is above the set limit. The display on the Claas Information System screen informs the driver and activates the reversing process in the same way as for metal detection.

The rock(s) can then be safely removed from the swath. This new feature significantly increases operating safety and reduces expensive downtimes.
