Most people who come to Farm Progress Show come to see the newest machines and latest ag innovations. And for the most part, the Agco lot and its several brands didn’t disappoint. A new Fendt tractor and Hesston hay tools were among the big highlights.

But an even larger display in the Massey Ferguson section of the lot truly stood out. It was a blast from the past.

The brand, in recognition of its 175th anniversary, had a lineup of vintage tractors on loan from farmers across the country. Everything from a tractor built specifically for the U.S. Navy to a rare snowmobile the company built was on display.

Check out some highlights from Massey Ferguson’s vintage tractor display. Maybe you have a piece in your collection, or maybe you have an even better piece.

Chris Torres, editor of American Agriculturist, previously worked at Lancaster Farming, where he started in 2006 as a staff writer and later became regional editor. Torres is a seven-time winner of the Keystone Press Awards, handed out by the Pennsylvania Press Association, and he is a Pennsylvania State University graduate.

"The news business is a challenging job," Torres says. "It makes you think outside your small box, and you have to formulate what the reader wants to see from the overall product. It's rewarding to see a nice product in the end."

Torres' family is based in Lebanon County, Pa. His wife grew up on a small farm in Berks County, Pa., where they raised corn, soybeans, feeder cattle and more. Torres and his wife are parents to three young boys.
