As combines and tractors continue to grow bigger, heavier, and more powerful, they can bring a range of challenges to the farmers who own and operate them, including problems with soil compaction, power hop, rode lope and more.

Given the variety of potential causes (which often interact with each other), tracking down the solution can be time-consuming and frustrating when time is short for farmers.

One group of trained professionals specializes in helping farmers dealing with tire set-up related performance problems like these, and that's Titan's Ag Specialists.

Set Up for Success

Choosing the right tires for your tractor or combine isn't the first step, it's the goal. Reviewing your equipment, soil conditions, the way you farm and other uses for the equipment are all very important to getting the best tire fitment and, in turn, the most from your equipment.

According to Scott Sloan, Global Ag/LSW Product Manager at Titan International, the manufacturer of Goodyear® Farm Tires, "A large part of our job really is education. We're there to answer any questions a farmer might have about their tires. It's a big problem to a farmer who doesn't know what the problem might be."

House Calls Made Here

Titan is the only tire company with a full-time team dedicated to farmer education and support in the field. Titan Ag Specialists visit thousands of farms each year, covering more than 4 million square miles across North America.

On the job, they take a consultative approach that can include weigh-ups, correcting ballast, adjusting inflation, laser-measuring run-outs, and more.

Farmers understand and appreciate their responsiveness and expertise. "When you have a question, you get an answer and you get somebody to show up on your place or in the field where the problem is. I mean it has been spot on," said Scott Peterson of Peterson Grain Farms in Marengo, Illinois.

Collin Harting of Harting Farms LLC in Convoy, Ohio, concurs: "With Titan Ag Specialists you know they’re pretty much just a phone call away... Now you have a source right to the factory if you will, to get you answers."
