The Farm Progress Show is a popular site for premiering new equipment for the next crop season. In 60-plus years, the show has become a garden spot for finding new tools and tech, and 2017 is no different.
It has become a tradition to clue in readers on a few things coming. The major manufacturers are the starting point for the show, but realize that Farm Progress’ on-the-ground editorial team finds more than 100 new products every year.
Agco offers tractor, applicator
Agco is expanding the Challenger tractor line with the MT700 track tractor. The tractor uses what Agco calls AccuEngineering for a more intuitive machine with the same fit and finish found in the Challenger 1000 Series. The MT700 has a Tractor Management Center that puts all functions within easy reach, including color-coded controls for simpler operation.
NOW ON TRACKS: Agco is launching the MT700 track tractor at the Farm Progress Show.
The RoGator C Series sprayers offer new tech, including a more effective cleanout system with less product waste. They feature the new LiquidLogic system, which Agco reps will explain at the show.
Case IH rolls out several tools
Case IH is celebrating its 175th anniversary making farm equipment with some interesting new rollouts this fall. For Steiger fans, there’s the CVX Drive Series, which features the industry’s first continuously variable transmission engineered for a four-wheel-drive articulated tractor.
BIG TRACTOR, NEW TRANSMISSION: Steiger is bringing CVT tech to those big, articulated machines with the new Steiger CVX Drive.
The Trident 5550 liquid/dry combination applicator is the first liquid/dry machine engineered to be changed throughout three seasons.
And for the 2018 season, Case IH introduces the 2140 Early Riser split-row planter. It’s available in six configurations featuring 15-inch row spacing options with an all-new row unit for fast, uniform emergence.
John Deere has combines, more
John Deere’s new combine series may not look much different on the outside, but it has a lot of differences on the inside. The S700 Series has added plenty of new technology for enhanced harvest accuracy, improved data collection and easier on-the-go setup.
New Holland is not included in this article because the company wasn’t ready to share what it will have on hand in time for this article. But at the 2016 show, New Holland had plenty of surprises. As with every exhibitor on the grounds, a visit there will be worth the trip.
The Farm Progress Show is Aug. 29-31 in Decatur, Ill. Learn more at FarmProgressShow.com.
