The Mid-Atlantic Master Farmer award is the region’s "gold standard" of farmer success. Now’s the time for you to nominate candidates worthy of this 2017 award.

Potential Master Farmers are superb farmers, savvy businesspersons, excellent resource stewards and exemplary community servant-leaders. Farm size is not a criterion. While farm couples or partners may be nominated, farm businesses do not qualify, since this award recognizes outstanding individuals.

Candidates from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia are eligible. Nominate them as soon as possible because they’ll need to complete their applications before spring.

To nominate a person or persons for this lifetime achievement honor, send their name(s), mailing address and phone number to: Master Farmer Program, 5227 Baltimore Pike, Littlestown, PA 17340. Or fax them to 717-359-0250. Or email [email protected]. Be sure the mailing address is current and complete.

The Master Farmer award is co-sponsored by American Agriculturist and Cooperative Extension in the above-mentioned states with generous support from AgChoice and Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit.
