MASTER FARMERS: The 2017 Ohio Master Farmers were honored during an awards program March 7 at the opening session of the Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference in Ada. Here, they are pictured with their wives; from left are Connie and Mark Guess, and Alan and Theresa Thompson.

Two new farmers are being added to a distinguished list of exceptional Ohio farmers. Ohio Farmer magazine is proud to honor Alan Thompson of Springfield and Mark Guess of Jamestown as the 2017 Ohio Master Farmers.

Honorees are designated as 2017 winners because the award is based on a career in agriculture and, therefore, designated with the year it is presented.

The awardees were nominated by peers and chosen based on farm management, innovation, conservation and leadership.
