Max Armstrong looks at the concept of creating a vaccine bank for the livestock industry

Max Armstrong ponders the potential for an outbreak of disease in the food production system. A key area of concern is creation of a vaccine bank, which is included in the U.S. House version of the new farm bill. That provision would provide $450 million for a program; the senate version includes a provision but no funding for the concept. It’s an area to be worked out during the farm bill conference committee work.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
