The Yieldtrac planter was designed with speed and longevity in mind but a few extras come with it. By designing from the ground up, this planter toolbar is on tracks rather than wheel suspension. This design eliminates pinch rows, increases floatation and significantly reduces soil compaction…and you get to plant faster too. The Yieldtrac planter is available with Case IH 1200 or 2000 series row units.
A Marshalltown, IA grower spent less time planting his crop this year than ever before. “I couldn’t be happier. You could hardly tell where the center section of this planter runs. The tandem configuration of the wing wheels gives a smoother ride. Plus, there are no pinch rows. We upped our planting speed ½ mph, in some cases 1 mph. Seed spacing this year is the best I’ve ever had. This machine tip toes across the field. I like the way the bar is built. It’s built for longevity.”
One reason for the difference in speed is fore/aft equalizing wing stabilizing wheels (4 or 8 wheels) that reduce toolbar vertical movement by 50%, enabling faster planting speeds while improving plant spacing and seed depth placement. The Yieldtrac has addressed row unit bounce so you don’t have to add expensive seed tube delivery systems – with your unit you get seed spacing without adding extras and you get improved yield because you have uniform seed depth.
A North Dakota producer of corn, soybeans and sugar beets started with two Yield Track planters but soon added a third. “The first two we were very pleased with the stands; the ease of changing the plates, the convenient fill of both seed hoppers and fertilizer tanks. Once calibrated these units are ready to go. We are so impressed with how these tracks carry.”
“We farm about 27,000 acres. This will be the quickest we have ever completed the entire process. Precision seed drop and depth is even more critical with sugar beets. These units are very accurate. You set up for 4-inch spacing and 1.5 inch depth and you’ve got it. Its precision…it’s there! Beet seed is about $200 an acre…when you get doubles in seed drop, it’s costing you money!”
Compaction is another area that has been addressed with this Case IH planter available in 1200 or 2000 series row units. Conventional wheel planters with seed and fertilizer tanks pact soil with 60 to 90 psi. By putting the planter on tracks, Yieldtrac reduces the psi to 14 and depending on the size of the planter, that is a significant difference. There are different row and spacing options available as well – 16, 24, 32, and 36 row options; 15”, 20”, 22”, to 30” spacing, and a 24-48 split row unit…with up to 850 gallons of liquid fertilizer and 120 bushels of seed!
The Split Row Models have an optional, industry exclusive toolbar side-shift feature that will keep the toolbar centered behind the tractor whether planting in the 15” or 30” configuration. This means you can no-till soybeans into corn rows without running your tires over the old corn row and can set guidance boundaries any direction you desire without compensating for an offset.
