Controlling cotton insects early can pay dividends

Insects cost Mississippi cotton growers nearly $70 million last year, says Angus Catchot, Mississippi State University associate Extension professor of entomology and plant pathology. Tarnished plant bugs are responsible for more than half that amount — almost $40 million — and controlling them early can pay, he says.
