A new digital fuel injection system breathing through 36 mm throttle bodies and sporting a 32-bit processor make top performance and easy starting standard equipment on the 2009 Kawasaki Brute Force 750.
The new fuel system feeds the 749 cc V-twin 4-stroke according to coolant temperature, air pressure and temperature, throttle position, vehicle speed and crankshaft angle for efficient power from sea level to past the timberline in any weather. The injectors are powered with an in-tank fuel pump designed to prevent any air-locks.
New, too, for 2009 is a set of Cardan joints (similar to U-joints) in the front drive shafts to absorb torque fluctuations and reduce weight and vibration.
Transmitting power to the wheels is the job of Kawasaki's continuously variable transmission (CVT) with high and low ranges and reverse. Two and four-wheel-drive modes are available at the flick of a handlebar switch, and 4WD engages a limited slip front differential to provide grip, as well as easy steering under normal conditions. The rider can also engage a handlebar-mounted Variable Front Differential Control lever to guide torque to the right and left front wheels for maximum traction.
Dual front disc brakes and a sealed rear disc brake make stopping the Brute Force a snap, along with Kawasaki's engine braking control feature to prevent runaways on downhill coasts.
Kawasaki's 2009 Brute Force 750 4X4i gets fuel injection and a chassis upgrade this year. It comes in five colors, including this Dark Royal Red.
Dual rate springs make the ride smooth, as well as making the machine capable of handling heavy loads and rough terrain with its independent rear suspension and front dual A-arms. The IRS features 7.9 inches of travel on its torsion-bar loaded geometry.
Five gallons of fuel ride beneath the seat for a low center of gravity.
The Brute Force 750 4X4i is capable of towing 1,250 lbs. and can carry a maximum combined weight of 264 lbs. on its lightweight front and rear cargo racks.
The 2009 Brute Force comes in Woodsman Green, Sunbeam Red, Lime Green, Super Black and Dark Royal Red. You can have one for an MSRP of $8,199.
