Individuals and ag businesses made news across Indiana recently. Here is a closer look:

AgRevolution. This ag equipment dealership opened its seventh location in August. The newest location is in Vincennes. AgRevolution is a wholly owned subsidiary of Agco, renamed within the past couple of years. The dealership provides equipment sales and service throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana.

Stacy Anthony, CEO, says the company is excited to show farmers in southwest Indiana what it can offer. AgRevolution carries Fendt, Massey Ferguson, RoGator/TerraGator, Gleaner, Precision Planting and Sunflower products.

J.R. Roesner. Earlier this summer, Roesner became the first Hoosier named to the National Corn Growers Association board since 2018. Roesner, Ferdinand, farms with his brother, William, on a fifth-generation family farm.

Roesner is an Indiana Corn Marketing Council director and chairman of the Ethanol Action Team for NCGA. He is only the third Hoosier ever elected to this board. Denny Maple, Kokomo, was elected in 2018. Alan Kemper, Lafayette, was on the board as past president of NCGA in 1989-90.

Josh Miller

Josh Miller (pictured). This fifth-generation farmer from Madison County was elected chairman of the board of directors of the U.S. Grains Council by the full board of directors at the annual meeting this summer. Miller farms 2,000 acres of corn and soybeans near Anderson, primarily in a no-till operation. He is also a board member of the Indiana Corn Marketing Council.

USGC is a membership-driven organization made up of corn, sorghum and barley producers and agribusinesses that support free and fair global trade. USGC is based in Washington, D.C., with a full-time presence in 13 global markets. It operates programs in 50 countries.

Don Lehe. The Indiana Corn Growers Association and the Membership and Policy Committee of the Indiana Soybean Alliance presented Lehe with the Friend of the Farmer Award at the Ag Policy Summit. Lehe, who farms with his brothers near Brookston, is retiring after serving for 20 years in the Indiana House of Representatives.

While in the Indiana General Assembly, he chaired the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee and was vice chair of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Committee. ICGA President Scott Smith, Windfall, presented the award, along with Matthew Chapman, Springport, chair of the Membership and Policy Committee, and Steve Howell, director of industry affairs for ISA.

Matt Clark

Matt Clark (pictured). Serving as digital technology manager for Ceres Solutions, Clark was recently selected as part of the Indiana AgriInstitute’s Agricultural Leadership Program Class 20. His two-year stint in the program began this summer.

The Montgomery County native is excited to prepare for learning along with classmates. Planned activities include a working session in Washington, D.C., and 10 to 14 days studying abroad. Since 1984, 500 participants have graduated from the program.

Mike Braun. This Indiana senator received the 2022 Friend of Farm Credit Award from the AgriBank District Farm Credit Council in July. Braun, Jasper, serves on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.

Doc Cottingham, Attica, helped present the award. Cottingham represents Farm Credit Mid-America on the ADFCC.
