A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, for Dr. Ernie Flint, Mississippi State University regional Extension specialist, who died Saturday, Jan. 20.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Kosciusko, Miss.

In an e-mail to associates and friends, his son, Greg Flint, Mississippi State University Extension Service soybean specialist, wrote: “My father found his true calling when he came to the MSU Extension Service in 1991. He loved Extension and what it means to the people of the state of Mississippi. He also loved working in the field of agriculture day to day, and being in contact with great people ... He died at his home, surrounded by his family.”

Dr. Flint’s writings on agricultural topics were carried in a number of newspapers in his service area, including Delta Farm Press.
