Earlier this year, Farm Industry News profiled several of the 2012 yield champs in the National Corn Growers Association's Corn Yield Contest, detailing each farmer's inputs that helped them grow top corn yields. The 2013 contest is now open for online entry. NCGA is offering a reduced entry fee of $80 until June 15.

For almost a half century, NCGA has hosted the National Corn Yield Contest, which provides an opportunity for corn growers to compete with colleagues and grow more corn per acre, helping to fuel and feed the world. Winners are recognized at the annual Commodity Classic show and in national publications. Two farmers shared their secrets with Farm Industry News at this year's Commodity Classic.
