Carolina growers host Southeast fruit, vegetable expo

The Southeast Fruit and Vegetable Expo, sponsored this year cooperatively by the North Carolina and South Carolina fruit and vegetable associations, will be held at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Dec. 13-14, 2006 in Myrtle Beach.

The Expo has grown over the past several years and offers an exciting trade show and an outstanding educational program. All fruit and vegetable producers in the Southeast are invited to attend.

In conjunction with the Expo, the 2006 South Carolina Fruit and Vegetable Association annual meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dece. 13, 2006, from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Convention Center. Officers will be elected and activities for the upcoming year will be discussed.

Lunch will be served during the meeting for registered members of the South Carolina Fruit and Vegetable Association.

Another event, the South Carolina Watermelon Association Annual Meeting, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, beginning at 10 a.m., at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Columbia, S.C.

The meeting includes educational sessions, the watermelon auction, and the 2007 Watermelon Queen contest. All watermelon producers and families are invited to attend.
