Q. I understand there is a biofungicide that helps in the control of nematodes?

A. Yes, Double Nickel® LC biofungicide recently received a FIFRA Section 2(ee) recommendation by the US EPA for the suppression of root knot (Meloidogyne spp.), cyst (Globodera spp.), lesion (Pratylenchus spp.), ring (Mesocriconema spp.) and spiral (Helicotylenchus spp.) nematodes. Suppression of nematodes has been seen when Double Nickel LC is applied as part of a soil disease management program.

Q. What diseases does it control?

A. Use Double Nickel LC for control of root and collar rots caused by Phytophthora, Pythium, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, Armillaria and other soil-borne pathogens in bearing and non-bearing tree nuts, including almond, chestnut, pistachio, walnut, macadamia and others.

Q. How do I apply it?

A. Apply 2 qts/A in the spring and again during the root flush periods by drip or any other type of irrigation that can concentrate the 2 qts directly into the root zone. Be sure to follow with overhead sprinkler irrigation for sprays directly applied to the soil surface to move Double Nickel LC into the root zone. Or inject Double Nickel LC directly into the root zone.
