In September, the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce in Kings County, Calif., honored a farm family, agriculturalist, and ag supporter of the year.

More than 375 farmers, friends, supporters, and community leaders gathered Sept. 12 to congratulate the Miya farm family, the University of California Cooperative Extension Kings County office, and retired UCCE Kings County Farm Advisor Bob Beede.

The kudos were handed out at Jack Stone’s Barn, an iconic, well-known destination over the years for visiting agricultural tours from around the country.

This is the 20th anniversary of the Chamber of Commerce awards to the local farming community.
