Mike Pearson says it was a perfect year for the Farm Progress Show. It has great weather, high attendance and lots of new products for farmers.

When it comes to new equipment, the Farm Progress Show 2023 will be known as the year of new solutions.

Case IH debuted the new Case Steiger 715 Quad track. IT is the biggest tractor ever built by Case IH. The main use will be for tillage. It has 778 horsepower, 16 Liter twin turbine engine with a 16-speed transmission.

Also at the Farm Progress Show was the first Big Bud Tractor in 40 years built on a 1 ½ inch frame. It is powered by Caterpillar. The whole idea is for the tractor to be easily repaired by farmers and feature heavy duty components, many of which are from the mining industry.

The show also featured new tire designs and smaller horse power, electric tractors which are not meant to replace diesel tractors.

Another highlight of the show was the Farmall tractor parade to the show which was meant to celebrate 100 years of Farmall tractors.

Pearson said it was clear that the Farm Progress Show was a place for farm technology and history this year.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Mike Pearson, a farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
