Amity, Wahpeton, N.D., has introduced section control for its new 3250 and 3800 air carts. The system can meter up to three dry products. It supports both single and double chutes and can deliver all three products to the same opener. Turn compensation is part of the section control system, too.
Amity’s section control uses an electric drive system and individual meters rather than hydraulic drive for speed control and to turn on and off. The electric drive is faster than hydraulic drive and prevents excess material from dumping into the system when the gates are opened. This is a particularly significant advantage with smaller and higher-priced seeds.
Section control retrofits for other Amity carts are being developed, the company says. For more information, visit amityseeding.com.
