Heiskell Company acquires Gold Star Feed and Grain from Kent Nutrition, ending their joint venture in the Northeast. All mill operations continue.

Last week, J.D. Heiskell & Company announced that they had finalized the buy-out of their Gold Star Feed and Grain joint venture with the Kent Nutrition Group. Gold Star will continue operating mills located in Adams Center, N.Y.; Augusta, Maine; and Sangerfield, N.Y. Gold Star is headquartered at Adams Center.

Kent Nutrition will continue to own and operate mills at Arcade, N.Y., Richford, Vt., Bow, N.H., and Hagerstown, Md., and continue will continue to serve Kent Feed dairy customers and Blue Seal dealers out of these mills. KNG will also continue to own and operate retail stores under the Blue Seal brand, throughout the Northeast.

The change should not impact Gold Star customers, assures Andy Dugan, Gold Star general manager.

"We'll continue to adapt the way we do business around our customer's evolving needs here in the Northeast. We know that this focus is key as we strive for continued success here."

Kent Nutrition and it's Kent's Feed Division operates throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, New York, and Northeast under the Kent and Blue Seal master brands.
