Soybean Harvest Equipment Field Day is rescheduled to Sept. 27

Register for the Edwardsburg event by Sept. 23; lunch included

The annual Soybean Harvest Equipment Field Day has been moved from Sept. 16 to Sept. 27, from 10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 66863 Dailey Road, Edwardsburg. The location is about one mile south of Pine Lake Street, and attendees should follow the signs for field day parking.

The event is designed to help farmers reduce soybean harvest losses, which is an easy and effective way to increase farm income by $9.50 to $19.00 per acre in 2016, according to host Mike Staton, MSU Soybean Specialist.

New information and educational materials about reducing soybean harvest losses and operating farm trucks on public roads will be presented and available. Equipment company representatives will discuss specific recommendations for fine-tuning their combines and the following topics and equipment will be demonstrated or presented:

Draper heads
Auger heads
Air-assisted reels
Harvest loss measurements
Harvest recommendations
Farm truck regulations and safety
