NDSU Extension has posted its short- and long-term planning prices for crops and livestock for 2016.

Below are the short-term planning price projections that North Dakota State University Extension has made for crops and livestock to be produced in the North Dakota in 2016.

Crops
Spring Wheat -- $5.30/bu
Durum -- 6/bu
Oasts -- $2.30/bu
Feed barley -- $2.90/bu
Malting barley -- $4.25/bu
Oil sunflower -- $15.50/cwt
Non-oil sunflower -- $21/cwt
Corn -- $3.50/bu
Soybeans -- $8/bu
Canola -- $14.50/bu
Flaxseed -- $8/bu
Winter wheat -- $4.50/bu
Dry beans -- $22/cwt
Dry peas -- $10.83/cwt
Lentils -- $23/cwt
Alfalfa hay -- $88/ton
Mixed hay -- $63/ton

Livestock (all prices cwt.)

400-500 lb beef steers -- $185.00* (4th quarter)
500-600 lb beef steers -- $175.00* (4th quarter)
600-700 lb beef steers -- $165.00* (4th quarter)
700-800 lb beef steers -- $150** (1st quarter 2017)
800-900 lb beef steers -- $145** (1st quarter 2017)
1100-1700 lb cull slaughter cows -- $102.75
250 lb slaughter hogs -- $45
Slaughter ewes -- $160
105-140 lb slaughter lambs -- $140
60-90 lb feeder lambs -- $175
All milk -- $15.07
