Crop markets higher Sept. 1 after a dismal August

USDA announces corn and soybean export sales. (audio)

The crop markets are higher on this first day of September as they try to recover from their dismal performance in August.
Weekly export sales reported on Thursday were down from a week ago for corn, soybeans and wheat, but only corn missed trade forecasts. In daily reporting, USDA announced a corn export sale to Mexico and a soybean sale to unknown destinations.
