Producers can learn more about how Pipe Planner can make their crop irrigation more efficient while saving on water and electricity at a workshop set for March 16 at the University of Arkansas-Monticello College of Technology at McGehee.

The workshop starts at 10:00 a.m. and runs until noon. The UAM College of Technology is at 1609 East Ash Street, next to McGehee High School on Arkansas Highway 1. There’s no cost to attend. Participants may RSVP by calling the Desha County Extension Office at (870) 222-7265 and mentioning Pipe Planner.

The workshop will be led by Mike Hamilton, Extension irrigation instructor for the University of Arkansas, with agents from surrounding counties assisting.

“Pipe Planner is a great tool to help producers make the most of their water,” said Steve Kelley, Drew County Extension staff chair. “It’s much more user friendly than previous computerized tools – and it’s free.”
