This September will mark the 28th annual Celebration of Mississippi Rice Month. Rice Month was initiated by Congress and it helps to increase awareness of rice and recognizes the contribution made by the U.S. rice industry to America’s economy.

Mississippi will “Think Rice” this September as retail, foodservice, and grassroots promotions across the state put rice in the spotlight.

To help bring awareness of the importance of rice production and to be a part of the Celebration of Mississippi Rice Month, attend the 28th annual Delta Rice Tasting Luncheon sponsored by Delta Rice Promotions, Inc. Delta Rice Promotions, Inc., will host the event Sept. 14 at Delta State University Walter Sillers Coliseum in Cleveland, Miss., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from the Extension office of Bolivar County by calling (662) 843-8371. Tickets will also be on sale at the door.
