CDFA awards $1.4 million to improve nutrient management

Funding includes $ 3 million for UCANR to conduct specific nitrogen and irrigation education and training.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Fertilizer Education and Research Program (FREP) is announcing $ 4.14 million in grants to agricultural organizations and universities. 

Funding includes $3 million for the University of California, Agricultural and Natural Resources (UCANR) to conduct specific nitrogen and irrigation education and training in the Central Valley and Central Coast, and $1.14 million for five research and education projects to advance California growers' understanding and knowledge and implementation of improved irrigation and nitrogen management practices.
