A 232-acre farm offering a combination of highly productive farmland with good native grass pasture and reliable water drew a good number of bidders and a good price in a Cloud County sale that closed June 27.

The property, located near Concordia, is also being considered for wind energy farm expansion.

The property brought $525,000 or $2,262 per acre. The seller was not disclosed. Farmers National Co. handled the sale.

Greeley County
About 720 acres of land enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program was sold at auction in five tracts on July 18.

Tract 1, about 240 acres, sold for $600 per acre. Tract 2, about 160 acres, brought $675 per acre, while Tract 3, about 80 acres, sold for $675. The fourth tract, about 160 acres, brought $575 per acre, and the final tract, about 80 acres, was bid in at $625 per acre. Phyllis Gerstberger et.al. was the seller. Farm and Ranch Realty of Colby handled the sale.

Hamilton County
About 855 acres of dryland farm ground was sold at private auction in Hamilton County in June. The property sold in three tracts. The first, about 555 acres, brought $875 per acre. The second, about 120 acres, was also bid in at $875 per acre, and the third, about 160 acres, brought $600 per acre. The seller was Farmers Bank of Osborne. Faulkner handled the sale.

In another Hamilton County private auction sale that closed on July 3, about 960 acres of land was sold in five tracts. All of the land in the sale as enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program with an expiration at the end of September in 2020.

All five tracts sold to one buyer with a total price of $310,400, or $323 per acre. The seller of an undivided half interest was the Howard M. Buhrle Trust, and the other seller of an undivided half interest was Zaylon R. Buhrie. Farmers National Co. handled the sale.

Rice County
About 374 acres of Rice County land was sold at auction on May 2. The land included 245 acres of cropland, a recreational sand pit and about 1 mile of Arkansas River frontage with excellent hunting potential. The property also included two wells permitted for 212 acre-feet, but the wells have not been pumped for a number of years. The property brought $1,900 per acre. The seller was the Peter Family. Carr Auction and Real Estate of Larned handled the sale.

In another Rice County sale that closed July 7, a quarter section of good-quality land was sold in an auction that closed July 7. The farm is one large open field with a strip of grassland that forms a large waterway along one corner. The smaller fields have been in grass for some time but could be farmed.

The property brought $1,500 per acre. The seller was the McDonald Family Trust. Farmers National Co. handled the sale.

Stafford County
About 156 acres of Stafford County land was sold at auction on May 3. The property included about 65 acres planted to wheat and 90 acres in milo stubble and brought $1,560 per acre. The seller was the Carol Louan Talley Revocable Trust. Carr handled the sale.

Pawnee County
Two Pawnee County farms were sold at auction on July 24.

In the first sale, about 160 acres of land, all dryland cropland with an 85.67-acre wheat base and a 42.83-acre grain sorghum base, sold for $1,190 per acre. The sellers were the Florence Batchman heirs.

In the second sale, also a quarter-section, the land included about 100 acres of dry cropland with the rest in pasture and an old farmstead. That land brought about $900 per acre. The seller was the Keeley heirs. Carr Auction and Real Estate of Larned handled both sales.

Edwards County
About 160 acres of Edwards County land, mostly enrolled in the CRP program through Sept. 30, 2021, was sold in a deal that closed July 24. The sellers retained the right to revenue from a salt water disposal well on the property.

The property sold for $750 per acre. The Donavan family was the seller. Carr Auction and Real Estate of Larned handled the sale.

Trego County
About 320 acres of farmland, mostly in grass with about 70 acres of cropland, was sold in an auction that closed July 7. Half of the mineral rights were retained. The property was purchased by the tenant for $718.75 per acre. The seller was Petty. Farmers National Co. handled the sale.
