Talk of safety on the farm is narrow-minded, too often. Women on the farm, who make up 30 percent, according to the census, are most at risk around large animals. And children are also at higher risk on the farm. Safety experts say all farm activities should be properly supervised, and that farm jobs need to be based on size, maturity and more. With more young people at home, particularly during the pandemic, they're more often exposed to the dangers of farming.
Safety experts say that having people trained in safety and CPR could be the difference between life and death.
