Max Armstrong updates us on where farmland values stand and who owns it in the USA.

The next survey from the USDA regarding farmland values comes on in the middle of July.

Farmland values continue their growth-- 10 percent over the last quarter. However, some question whether the land market will continue to support the prices.

Ray Brownfield, an agriculture realtor, located just outside of Chicago, Ill. says 2022 will be a hard year to beat. There is a lot more downward market pressure. It won't be a bust but prices could fall due to weather concerns, low market prices, higher interest rates.

He looks for some farms not to sell due to lower prices.

Plus, a look at the Iowa land ownership survey, had some interesting stats. Including that interest from investors is growing-- it's up to 30 percent of the sales from 20 percent.

In addition, 55 percent of the farmland in Iowa is owned by people who don't farm and half of those have no farm experience.
