Grain futures tried to generate a bit of a bounce with stronger early trade in the overnight session. But gains didn’t last. Corn and wheat retreated in steady fashion while soybeans hit an air pocket and dropped sharply around 5 a.m. CST. Ag markets aren’t alone, because other assets from stocks to crude oil are also treading water, waiting for key reports over the next couple days as well as more news about trade negotiations with China.
