The U.S. dollar has been climbing since the election and has reached highest level in 14 years. That's good for those traveling abroad, but not so good for those selling into foreign markets as it makes U.S. products more expensive.
Land realtors say it was an interesting test of market when Schrader Auction Company sold about 8,600 acres of Illinois farm land sold. The land sold in its entirety for $55.3 million, or about $6,400 per acre. The land was part of Wilder Farms Holdings. It was offered in 46 tracts.
The sports world is mourning longtime sportscaster Craig Sager, who attended Northwestern University in suburban Chicago.
